Available Surface Finishes
Surface treatment carried out after milling or turning can change the appearance, surface roughness, hardness, and chemical resistance of production parts. The following are the mainstream surface treatment types:
1
As Machined (Ra 3.2μm/ Ra 126μin)
This is the standard choice, economical and fast, and the surface of the parts will leave obvious machining marks. Surface finish equivalent to 3.2RA μ M (125 RA μ In).
2
Smooth Machining (Ra 1.6μm/ Ra 63μin)
Precision machining refers to machining with an accuracy of 10-0.1 micrometers and a surface roughness below 0.1 micrometers.
3
Bead Blasted
Sandblasting treatment can clean and smooth the surface of customized parts, improving functionality and appearance quality. It leaves a uniform matte or satin texture on the machined parts by applying high-pressure glass beads to them.
1
Anodized
After anodizing, a hard non-conductive ceramic coating is added to the surface of aluminum parts to improve wear resistance and maintain the metallic texture and luster. There are different colors to choose from. It has both decorative effects and increased corrosion resistance.
2
Electropolished
Electropolishing is the reverse process of electroplating, which simplifies the metal surface at the microscopic level through chemical solutions. After electropolishing, metal parts can become brighter and reduce surface roughness.
3
Black Oxide
Black oxide coating is a conversion coating used for steel, stainless steel, and copper. Black oxides are mainly used for a smooth black appearance and slightly improve corrosion resistance. Black oxides impregnated with oil can provide the highest corrosion resistance.
1
Powder Coated
Powder coating is formed by electrostatic spraying on the surface of the workpiece, and then the powder layer is solidified by heating and baking to form a uniform film layer. It is usually used for exterior parts and has multiple colors to choose from.
2
Spray Painting
Spray painting is to spray paint on the surface of parts in the air. After painting, the parts have various colors, improve the aesthetic appearance, and make the parts unique, enhance brand awareness.
3
Plating
It including nickel plating, silver plating, gold plating, zinc plating, chromium plating, tin plating, etc. It is an ideal choice to reduce corrosion, improve appearance and function.
1
Chromate Conversion Coating (Alodine/Chemfilm)
Chromate conversion coating is used to improve the corrosion resistance of aluminum and aluminum alloys while keeping their conductive properties. It is also applied as a base layer prior to priming and painting parts.
2
Brushed (Ra 1.2μm/ Ra 47μin)
Brushing is a surface treatment method that forms lines on the surface of workpieces by grinding products to achieve decorative effects.
3
DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) Coating
DLC coating is one of the commonly used tool coatings in the industrial field. It is a coating material composed of carbon elements, similar in properties to diamonds, and also has a graphite atomic structure. DLC coating is an amorphous thin film with high hardness and high elastic modulus, low friction coefficient, wear resistance, and good vacuum friction characteristics. Therefore, it is commonly used as a wear-resistant coating.
